I didn’t think I got as much reading done this month as I would have liked till I started writing this post, ha. The thing is that July was a crazy month. I was uninspired and life was getting too real so I took a bit of a break. I didn’t start reading till 20th July I guess. I know people in a reading slump might be looking at my post crossly because I could read and I did not. It is just that I believe in taking a bit of a break from time to time so that I don’t end up overwhelming or exhausting myself. I go through those two things a lot so this is a good approach for me. Anyone else does that?
I read two books in July.
1- The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay (Goodreads Synopsis Here)
I had this book on my e-reader from a while. I didn’t think I would pick it up ever and then one night I was getting bored and started reading it. So frickin’ glad. I loved every single thing about this book. It has become one of my favorite contemporary read.
2- Me Before You by Jojo Moyes (Goodreads Synopsis Here)
After the awesomeness of the book above, I really needed to read more so I ended up with this one. I was convinced I would hate Me Before You and picked it only because I made a pact with myself that I would read the book before the movie. I couldn’t wait more I was absolutely losing it because Sam Claflin was killing me with his gorgeous smile. This book was fantastic. I watched the movie right afterward and felt they didn’t catch the essence of the book. I might be wrong due to ‘books are better than movie’ syndrome but this is my opinion.
Have you guys read any of the above books?
