I read two books, DNF a book, one novella, and reread two books in February. It was a great reading month, to be honest.
1- One Day by David Nicholls – (Goodreads Synopsis Here)
I absolutely loved this book. It was amazing from the beginning to the end. When I started, I didn’t expect it to be so well written but it exceeded all my expectations. This one’s for anyone who’s ever fallen in love with their best friend but just couldn’t grasp the concept of it completely.
2- The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick – (Goodreads Synopsis Here)
I have mixed feelings for this book. Even though this book was fun to read I just didn’t fall in love with it completely. The romance is more of a friendship between two messed up people which was amazing. It was a quick read so you can include this one in your summer TBR pile.
3- The Last Juror by John Grisham – (Goodreads Synopsis Here)
Rating: Did Not Finish (DNF)
I have never met anyone who has ever spoken badly about John Grisham books. In fact people I know are obsessed with his work. I wanted to give his books a go and started with this book but I just couldn’t finish it. The story seemed a bit interesting but the narrative was so boring that I would fall asleep within 10 minutes of starting the book. Any John Grisham book suggestions that can change my opinion about his work? I would love to know! 🙂
4- The Prelude of Ella & Mica (The Secret #0.5) by Jessica Sorensen – (Goodreads Synopsis Here)
So I have this problem where I read books in numeric order. If there is a 0.1 of a series I would start from there. I won’t just go to book one directly. The sad thing is it took me some time to figure out that not all novellas are that good and can ruin some great books significantly. This novel was alright and quite typical. We have an angry teenage girl with family problems and we have the perfect guy best friend who is putting up with her shit because he is in love with her, etc. I liked Mica.
I don’t usually reread books unless its Twilight saga but I was missing everyone from the TMI world so much due to Shadowhunters TV series. The characters from the show are quite different to the ones in the books so I just had to reread and assure myself that they were indeed themselves.
5- City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments #1) by Cassandra Clare – (Goodreads Synopsis Here)
I believe rereading a book after a while helps you notice things you did not the first time around. I had fun reading City of Bones but I was also dreading the last parts and you know why that is so.
6- City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments #2) by Cassandra Clare – (Goodreads Synopsis Here)
The second book is my favorite so far in the series. It has so much wit and action, I love it. Plus a bit of Malec is all we need to survive every disaster there ever can be in the shadow world. Though I really wish there was more of it but I don’t mind rereading the next books for it. I love Malec, yes! ❤
I am trying to catch up on all the wrap ups till I reach my current month. The posts will soon be very present oriented. 😀
Until next time!
