Last Book Haul of 2016 // Books I Bought & Giveaway I Won

Processed with VSCO with a5 preset

2016 is well gone and it is mid-February now but that won’t stop me from sharing my last book haul of 2016. I got it at the very end and then procrastinated blogging about it but no more!

Here are the lovely titles. They are all hardcover and super gorgeous. I can’t tell you the state of my heart when I stacked them together for this picture and got the full effect of their beauty.

1- The Spy – Paulo Coelho (Click Here for Goodreads Synopsis)

I am a huge Paulo Coelho fan and bought this book the moment it was out. I read it last month and liked it but I am not sure if people who aren’t hardcore PC fans will.

2- Da Vinci’s Tiger – L.M. Elliot (Click Here for Goodreads Synopsis)

This one is such a cover purchase, ha. It is just so beautiful. I heard they changed the cover for this book and I didn’t wanted to buy any other so I grabbed this copy ASAP. No regrets. Now I am just hoping I will like the story as much too.

3- The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle #1) – Maggie Stiefvater (Click Here for Goodreads Synopsis)

4- The Dream Thieves (The Raven Cycle #2) – Maggie Stiefvater (Click Here for Goodreads Synopsis)

5- Blue Lily, Lily Blue (The Raven Cycle #3) – Maggie Stiefvater (Click Here for Goodreads Synopsis)

Alright, so back in the end of 2014 when Blue Lily, Lily Blue was released a blog had a giveaway for the above three books where you had to like and retweet their tweet about the giveaway and the first one to do so would win. I don’t know how I got lucky but I was the first one to do it. It wasn’t an international giveaway and I must have skipped that part in the rush. They delivered the books to my best friend who lives in the States and her dad got it for me when he visited. Took me about two years to actually get these books and sadly all the hype for this series vanished from my mind now. Doesn’t mean I won’t read these books. I will. Maybe soon. I also need to get the last book in hardcover because too beautiful to resist.

So this was the last haul of 2016. I hope you guys liked it. I personally love it, ha. Okay, now I have got a question for you lot.

What was the last book you bought in 2016?

Let me know in the comments below.

Byee! 🙂

Latest Book Purchases And Why I Bought Them

I wasn’t sure what to keep the title for this post because I ordered these books by the end of September, got them in the end of November, and am writing about them in December, so it feels really wrong to name it just one month hence Latest Book Purchases it is.

The first book I got is Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual by Bobbi Brown. This was to keep in spirit with buying and reading some nonfiction books this year. I won’t be reading it till next year but I am so happy I have it in my possession. I have been after this book ever since I got a fascination for beauty about two years back. So happy with this purchase.

The second book I got is Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte (Penguin Classics Edition). I am not really a classics lover. I do read Jane Austen and Charles Dickens from time to time but there hasn’t been any other classics that I have read. My only reason to read Wuthering Heights is because Bella (Twilight Saga) loves it and if you are following me on my bookstagram (@BigBooksTinyHeart) you would know I am *OBSESSED* with everything Twilight related. I was going to pick Wuthering Heights in paperback because I wasn’t sure if I would like it too. Then my best friend R told me it’s one of her favorite books. I made the decision of getting it in hardcover as I have developed a love for rereading books and if I end up liking this one, it might become my go-to later. By the time I was picking a cover, I decided it’s time to think about a serious collection. I didn’t find any that I liked more than Penguin Classics edition. I invested in it because I think you can never go wrong with classics. Someone or the other in the family would eventually read it one day. Anyway, it didn’t look that pretty in the display picture but I searched it on google and someone had posted a good close up. The hardcover is made of cloth and I think it is one of the most beautiful books I own.

The third book I got is Little Women by Louisa May Alcott (Puffin in Bloom Edition). I have been having a bit of classics moment these few months. The reason I looked up Little Women is because I remember reading one of its chapters in school when I was in grade 6th. I was very intrigued with the story and confused too because I didn’t know it was just a chapter and not the whole story.Later I told myself I will get the book one day and read it. I randomly typed in Little Women and Puffin in Bloom edition popped up. I was again uncertain if I should spend so much on it so I looked it up on Instagram. A fellow bookstagrammer @inspirit_pages owned it. I got chatting with her and that’s when I made my mind up to get it. By the way, follow @inspirit_pages as she has some of the best book collections. I am always browsing her feed to look at them.

I am absolutely chuffed with my purchases and hope I can add a few more books to my collection soon.

I’ll see you guys in my next post.

Bye! 🙂 ❤

January Book Purchase & Wrap Up

January Book Purchase & Wrap Up

Hi everyone and welcome back to my book blog! 🙂

This is my second post and it took me quite a while to decide what I wanted to write about. I think it will be a good idea if I do a bit of monthly book purchases and wrap ups in the coming posts. This way you guys will get to know the kind of books I read and what’s on my shelf currently. Don’t fret, I might end up mixing a bit of tags too because who doesn’t like doing them? I certainly do. Moving on with today’s post…

~ January Book Purchase ~

Right on 31st December, 2015, I purchased The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo. It was delivered in January and that should explain the title. I love fiction books but I like to read nonfiction ones too from time to time preferably something useful. Everyone I follow on social media were going bonkers over this book and recommending it madly and as I love the concept of organizing items and am often looking up new hacks I thought to give it a go myself.

~ January Wrap Up ~

I read three books in January.

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell – (Goodreads Synopsis Here)

Rating: 3.5/5

I had no idea how much I wanted to read Carry On until I started it. I had such a good time reading it and it was almost impossible for me to put down. It gave me so many happy feels. Baz was bae worthy and Simon was very cute. I loved their relationship. I read it as an eBook but ordered a physical copy as soon as I got the chance. I haven’t got my copy yet and I have no idea when I will get it but as soon as I do I will be writing a full fledge review and also reread it, heh!

Girl Online On Tour (Girl Online #2) by Zoe Sugg – (Goodreads Synopsis Here)

Rating: 2/5

Always supporting the blogging community, I gave Zoe’s second book a go. I completed it in a day. It was easy to go through. Being in my twenties, I didn’t really like it that much but I believe people below 16 will adore this book. I was very happy with the ending though. It was very practical and made sense. 🙂

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo (Goodreads Synopsis Here)

Rating: 5/5

This book was so much fun and informative to read. From start to end I devoured it. If you are a hoarder and want to get rid of all the excessive stuff you have in your house or you love cleaning and organizing, this book is for you. I know people might say why get a book on cleaning but I believe it is better to have a useful guide at your disposal at all times which you can trust. For me this book is that. I haven’t applied everything in this book yet but I intend to soon. Also there are a couple of things mentioned that I was doing already which made me very happy lol. Thanks to my constant experimenting habit.

That’s it for today, guys. I hope you all are doing well wherever you are. Talk to you guys soon in my next post. 🙂

All my love,

~F x
